Traditional Closeboard Fencing. This fence looks amazing in any garden. It has flexibility and is probably one of the strongest of all fences. The fence is made on site. Nowadays it is easier to fit for the DIYer as the posts are all morticed and the rails are all cut to fit the mortice holes.

You can choose from the following posts; timber, concrete and the new Durapost which is steel plastic coated in 4 colours. The timber post can be shaped at the top 2 way pointed, 4 way pointed and round topped. All Traditional Closeboard fences have a gravel board at the bottom of the fence. There are two reasons for this; one is that it keeps the fence more rigid in the middle because the bays are normally 3mtr long (10ft), the other is it protects the fence and keeps it from rotting for longer. The feather edge sit on the gravel board and are nailed to the arris rails. The feather edge are overlapped by 25mm. There is an option to have a counter rail and capping at the top which gives the fence a more finished look.
